We advise and represent clients in domestic and international arbitration and in other forms of alternative dispute resolution arising from commercial, contractual, infrastructure, trade and cross-border relationships.

Our arbitration practice covers the full life cycle of a dispute, beginning with assessment of the arbitration agreement, jurisdiction and procedural framework and extending through pleadings, evidence, interim relief, hearings, awards and post-award proceedings. We assist clients in determining the appropriate forum and developing a strategy that takes into account both the legal position and the commercial objectives underlying the dispute.

The practice includes international commercial arbitration under the ICC (Paris), the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association, the LCIA, SIAC and other institutional and international frameworks. We advise on procedural and jurisdictional issues arising under the applicable arbitral rules and assist clients in preparing and presenting their cases.

Where an arbitration involves parties, contracts or assets connected with more than one jurisdiction, the matter may require coordination with foreign counsel, experts and other professional advisers. We assist in bringing together the relevant legal teams and maintaining a coherent strategy across jurisdictions.

We also advise clients on negotiation, mediation and other alternative dispute-resolution mechanisms where an early, consensual or commercially structured resolution may be appropriate. The choice of mechanism is considered in light of the contract, nature of the dispute, procedural position, enforceability and the client’s wider commercial interests.
